The women we wanted to look like

I bought this book second hand today for $15. My mother has it and when I was little I'd pour over this book drinking in all the glamorous ladies like Hedy Lamar, Loulou de la Falaise, Lady Diana Cooper and Wallace Simpson. There are amazing stories of these womens extravagant lifestyles. I'll give you some examples as I re-read it.

  1. Dear Miz Edgeley,

I was happy to encounter your blog in te web that I found extremely interesting and educating. I am a Belarusian student-researcher (such a lil country in the centre of Europe) and presently I am working on my semester paper on the development and history of fashion photography. It turned out that some insights in the book might be very helpful for me. The influence of cinematography and cosmetics promotion on the construction of female images. Can we discuss this somehow? Thanks a lot in advance!
