Mil Besos

I was just reading through the New Yorker magazine and stumbled on these bold photographs by Ruven Afandor. I think they are from his 2009 monograph, Mil Besos, of and inspired by the women of flamenco. I am off to dye my eyebrows blackest black más rápido.

Köllő's Dr. Seuss millinery for Edgeley

Last week we created this little fantasy land, to show off the divine and faintly ridiculous hats we've been making at Edgeley. The charming Caveboy Studio's ladies, Shami and Amanda came to my shop on a very cold and rainy day to take these photos.

Pictured is Dr Seuss cocktail hat in Shocking Pink, black Wild at Heart leotard, Endora dress in black, shocking pink and purple silk georgette, Ruff in multi coloured lamé, taffeta and organza, forest green platform boots (my own), all jewellery from Metal Couture, sterling silver Bow earrings with hanging heart stone, Huge pink cocktail ring.

Old time, big eyes.

Shami Kiely took some photos of little me today. These are the reference images I sent her. A sweet girl Amanda did my maquillage and what a beautiful job! We listened to an album by Helen Kane, she sounds like Betty Boop, which is pretty much who I was channelling. Betty Boop, Clara Bow. Love!

Amy Winehouse

It's not a very good photo, but I had to draw dear Amy after I heard of her sad, sad death. What a huge voice, and really, what amazing style, what a bee-hive, what eye-liner.

The Burlesque Hour Loves Melbourne

Thank you Rose Chong, for taking us on an outing last Saturday night to see the Burlesque Hour Loves Melbourne. Moira Finucane, my all time favorite performer, was typically terrifying, gloriously glamorous and hysterical in equal parts. I love her so much.

More Terry de Havilland love

This is another pair of shoes I rather admire, they are called Tammy. Wish, wish, wish. See them in all their glory on the de Havilland website HERE. Oh and I'd just like to acknowledge Liz de Havilland the gorgeous wife, business partner, and foot model/muse, of Terry. Big up Liz!

Terry De Havilland

Ok here I am again telling you what to do if in London. The Terry De Havilland exhibition at the Shoe Gallery at Selfridges, opened on 12th July and is on for one month. There are limited edition shoes being made especially to celebrate Terry's 50th year of kick-arse shoe making.

I drew my favorite pair, multi coloured Lily snakeskin. I remember seeing shoes like this as a child in fashion and rock'n'roll books. Snakeskin platforms on the Bowies. I die for these!
Terry De Havilland you are my hero.

See Terry's amazing website HERE and buy some. You have never bought a pair shoes if you haven't bought a pair of De Havillands. The others don't count much.

Cosmic Psychos

I am the black rooster in patent red stiletto heels in this Cosmic Psychos video. It was shot in 1996 or 7 and I never saw it, as it was banned from Rage because of the guns? We found it last night when we were all picking you-tube videos to watch. My friend Jenny was the girl tied to the hills-hoist, what a hottie. So funny

A homage to Deborah Griffin

I met this ferociously gorgeous woman, Deborah Griffin, when WLG took me to a party at her house. My dream fluro crucifix light was on her wall. Someone recently bought a copy of a book titled Fetish, and in it was this photo, which I had to draw. Deborah Griffin I take my pig snout off to you.
